There are people who complain about the whitespace aspect of Python, but in practice it seems to be a non-event. Everyone indents their code anyway! You don't even have to be totally consistent, except within the same level of the same block.

As you say, it's easy to learn (was originally derived from a teaching language) and yet it scales up. I give it full marks!
