André 's 8-bit misc pages

This page is the place for general hardware stuff and tools. It currently contains a logic probe.

Hardware Tools

This section contains tools that help building - and debugging - hardware.
  • probe Logic probe
This is a logic probe, that is it determines the logical state of a hardware signal, in this case TTL. Additionally it has a "pulse" circuit, that can indicate signal states even when the actual pulses on the hardware signal are too short to be noticed. And it has a latch, so that a signal can be sampled at a high-low or low-high transition of a second signal.
  • vhdl VHDL
VHDL is a hardware description language, that also allows to simulate electronic circuits. I did some work with VHDL on various boards, and have written up my experience.
  • scope Oscilloscope comparison
An oscilloscope is a very good tool for the analysis of problems with electronics I got me a new oscilloscope and have written up my first experience and a comparison with my old scope.
